Bose
Soundwear Companion Speaker Global Display Program
My initial thought was that this display program would require a new look for Bose because not only was this for the launch of a new product but also a new product line, Wearables. My intention was to keep the focus on the product by simplifying the display to be a shelf and holder for the Soundwear Companion Speaker.
Neck Form
Since this product is a wearable speaker with a unique form factor, a reference to how you would wear the product was necessary. I assisted in developing a neck form to not only display the product on a familiar form but to also treat this more as a wearable tech accessory. This was not only successful in showing the customer how to wear the product but it was also an attention getter. This would be the first time a neck form was used on a Bose wholesale display.
4' End Cap
For the product launch, a number of the top CE retailers allotted Bose a 4’ display space. This was a substantial display area for a smaller product. To keep it simple, I used the same shelf component I had designed which was then incorporated into a large, lit graphic. Along with a simple hardware change this allowed the shelf to be removable adding significant cost savings.
Experience Platforms
Touchscreen demos were used in some retailers while others had to rely on audio only demos. This further presented the importance of having the neck form on the display for a clear and satisfying user experience.
Retail Shop-in-Shop Display
This display included a neck form along with a displayer for the optional cover and an iPad to run a touchscreen demo.
Specialty Shop-in-Shop Display
Small Glorifier
This display was necessary for locations with smaller footprints. In cases where there is no room for graphic communication or an automated demo experience, the neck form is crucial to show how the speaker should be worn.
Retrofit Placement
In some cases the Soundwear Companion Speaker will be placed in the existing Bose headphone displays as an alternative when space in the retailer is limited. Along with displaying the product on a bracket, a graphic is placed under the glass to communicate how to wear the speaker.
CVS Wellness End Cap
Given the chance to collaborate with CVS on their new wellness initiative, Bose entrusted me with leading the project due to my substantial experience with the retailer. Leveraging my knowledge of the typical CVS customer, I ensured Bose stayed on brand and designed a display tailored to meet their specific needs. Direct collaboration with sales and the CVS visual team allowed for the successful launch of Bose Hear and Sleep products. This effort supported a high-profile partnership, resulting in the creation of four display variants for over 50 test stores.
Display Details
These fixtures offer interactive learning through either a touch screen or static graphic, providing additional product information. Dummy products were positioned behind acrylic to convey size information and enhance the customer's visual experience while watching the accompanying video.
In implementing this display program, the store mandated the inclusion of pull cards since product boxes would be stored behind the registers.
Experience Plans
Depending on test locations each store received either a touch screen or a static graphic to display additional product information.
